In a busy few weeks, Strider's have been out near & far. At the Rugby 6, 2nd race in the East Midlands Grand Prix, Trevor Wilkinson finished in 37:17 followed by Carolyn 38:48, Clare Hinton 43:53 & Jackie Lindsay 46:21. Jackie made it to the 3rd race in the series, Bedford 6 to finish in 47:22 just behind brother Dave in 47:10. On Sunday last @ the Coventry Half-Marathon, Rich Shephard ran 1:33:10 followed by Sue Cox, 1:55:23 depite the heat. Further north in Edinburgh and even hotter conditions, 3 Striders made their marathon debuts. 1st back was John Handford in 3:51:34 followed by Jonathan Wallis, 4:02:52 and Heather Handford 6:00:34. Hayley French, who had been unwell the week before, wisely decided to call it a day after 11 miles. Meanwhile in the Costa Cotswolds, 4 teams and 40 Striders struggled through the melting tar and blistering conditions to complete the Hilly 100. Pride of place again goes to the ladies, with Dawn Clark's girls comfortably retaining the Ladies Team prize with over 20 minutes to spare over their nearest rivals. And finally, at the Brathay Windermere Marathon, Darren Gillman knocked nearly 12 minutes off his PB coming home in 119th position in 3:35:26.
