Whilst many Striders headed to Banbury on Sunday, several avoided the hills and carried on further south along the M40 to Silverstone to run the Half Marathon. All fared well despite strong winds on this notoriously open circuit. Trevor Wilkinson led the team home, finishing 19th in 1.22.31 (PB), Carolyn Wilkinson was 4th lady and 1st Vet 40 (no prizes unfortunately) in 1.26.34 and would have been in the top 3 but apparently someone called Liz Yelling had dropped by! A new PB and club record was some consolation. Nick Adams (running incognito on a borrowed number) ran c. 1.33, and Helen Tudge scored yet another PB in 1.50.57. Roy Rogers also ran, finishing in 1.42.16 but amongst the 5,600 runners and thousands of spectators, our paths never crossed. All came away with what must be the biggest, or certainly longest, race T-shirts ever. Trevor
